baking endeavors

Today I did something I'd been wanting to do for a while...I made red velvet cupcakes, complete with cream cheese frosting. They were delicious, if I do say so myself; though I'm sure my sister and her friend would gladly agree. ;)

I gathered all the ingredients...

And the recipe, of course: {courtesy of Abbey}

And I set to work, measuring and pouring and beating everything until it was just so.

In went the batter and out came the cupcakes, fresh and warm and just right...

Then came the frosting. My frosting abilities leave much to be desired, but I think they turned out alright.

And then, of course, I did what I'd been waiting to do. I devoured my cupcake.

But not before taking plenty of pictures of it. ;)

 So, that, my friends, is the story of my adventures in cupcake baking. It was a lot of work {mostly the cleanup!} but totally worth it. Have you baked anything recently?

  9. I didn't bake it but I had the most wonderful key lime pie and my dog ate it ALL as well as a chocolate cake, a block of cheese, a pan of macaroni, 5 sandwiches,a bag of M&M's, and many bowls of cat food.
    so now I think I'll bake myself a key lime pie

  12. Hi, Starr! This is Abbey. I'm signed in on my other blog, not on the doll one.

    I'm so glad that the recipe worked out for you. It looks like the turned out great! I made some more the other day, but put cinnamon in the icing this time. Delectable! :)
