my favorite things // april

I've been wanting to do a post like this for a while, so today I thought, why not? Here are some things that I've been loving lately...websites, photographs, general items.

-typewriters.

I want one. Badly. Haven't decided what kind or color yet.

Okay, so I used to not be interested at all in wedding/engagement photography. I thought it was boring and girly and all the same. Well, then I found this blog. And needless to say, I no longer feel that way. I love their shoots and unique locations.

-poladroid.

It's this application where you upload your photo and it turns it into a polaroid. It's fun and really easy. :)

-I ♥ the Library.

{and this print! But sadly I could not find a credit for this. :( }

-A Ring of Endless Light by Madeleine L'Engle.
I haven't read any of her other books, but I'm reading this one now and I was struck by this quote:
"To live forever in this body would take away much of the joy of living, even if one didn't age but stayed young and vigorous...If we knew each morning that there was going to be another morning, and on and on and on, we'd tend not to notice the sunrise, or hear the birds, or the waves rolling into shore. We'd tend not to treasure our time with the people we love. Simply the awareness that our mortal lives had a beginning and will have an end enhances the quality of our living."

Enough said.

For more pictures and things I like, you can check out my pinterest boards. :) So, what are some of your favorite things right now?

P.S. You would not believe how hard it is to find photos on WeHeartIt that are properly credited...Well, maybe you would if you've tried. Anyway, I did my best to find pictures with links to their owners. None of these belong to me except the Polaroid ones...Those are miiiiiine.

  1. Lovely post, Kendall. I love the polaroid edits you did. I so have that mini Typewriter photo in my Flickr favourites. :) If you like "This Modern Romance", you will love the blog/website, "Ruffled".

I'm not a huge fan of "WeHeartIt" because they don't usually credit the artists, but Pinterest is amazing. I love it! :)

    Have a great day,

  2. I love typewriters too... there is something so lovely and vintage-y about them. Plus, the awesome clicking keys don't hurt either. :)

That cat picture made me laugh- so cute!

  7. Gorgeous collection. Can I ask, how does Poladroid work? I downloaded it a few months back and left it collecting virtual dust, and then tried using it again last night--and failed! Do files need converting?

  10. Typewriters are beautiful.

When i was a little girl I loved to go into my grandfather's office and play with his large black keyed typewriter. I can still remember my fingers getting ink on them as I unstuck the stuck keys.
