online personality tests as a form of procrastination

It's what I do for fun.

Today I took the Jung Typology Test, which basically categorizes you as one of sixteen personality types based on questions you answer. Obviously it's not perfect but it's surprisingly accurate and I find stuff like this insanely interesting, anyway.

I got INFP, which stands for Introspective iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving.

"INFPs are introspective, private, creative and highly idealistic individuals that have a constant desire to be on a meaningful path. They are driven by their values and seek peace. Empathetic and compassionate, they want to help others and humanity as a whole. INFPs are imaginative, artistic and often have a talent for language and writing. They can also be described as easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal." (via)

This part especially jumped out at me, because I was actually just going to write my occasional paper for English on that very subject:

"INFPs do not like conflict, and go to great lengths to avoid it."

"They may be awkward and uncomfortable with expressing themselves verbally, but have a wonderful ability to define and express what they're feeling on paper." (via)

I think it's pretty spot on.

In addition, among the jobs listed were artist, photographer, & writer, which made me happy.

Take it here and tell me what you get! Doooo it!

  1. I did this in eighth grade and got ENFP. Wonder what I'd get now...

  2. Because I'm procrastinating on French homework, I did it again and did indeed get ENFP again! Only last time I was only 51% extroverted and this time I'm 67%

  3. I'm an INFP as well. From what I've read, we're pretty rare. :)

  4. I'm INFJ. Pretty close to INFP but apparently only 2% of the population is INFJ.

I was startled when I read my description because it felt like someone had known me forever. Weird how that works!

  5. INFJ.
I generally don't put much belief into these. As a psychological thing, I think they have some truth but as an online test, not so much.

  6. I'm ESFP. The performer. ;)
Even though it's just a generalization, I think it's crazy how true some of these things can be. ;)

  7. I love taking those tests! I have such a hard time with the answers, but I always wind up with INTJ. I think it's really cool to read all the different profiles. Also, I found out that my parent's personality types are supposed to be very compatible. Go figure! :)

  8. INTJ, man. Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging. Which means I'm a mastermind, apparently.

  9. Not to mention Jane Austen was an INTJ.

Hey, you. Be nice.
