in the quiet

Today was a good day. I love lazy, autumn Sundays.

This morning, I convinced my dad to take me to Starbucks after church. I got a pumpkin spice latte, which I've been wanting to try ever since everyone started mentioning them in their blogs and stuff. My mom was a bit put out that I got coffee, and I was like, really? Almost everyone I know, my age and younger, drinks it, and I don't think one shot of espresso is going to kill me. Anyway, I don't like coffee unless it has a ton of sugar and stuff in it, like this. My dad's plain iced coffee? Too bitter. This probably would have been better if it was about thirty degrees cooler, but it's still tasty, and I like pretending it's cold outside.

This is one for the books...I actually finished all my homework that's due tomorrow by about one o'clock. So proud. I did all (10+ pages of) my Spanish homework and my History homework yesterday, and then today I did my Chemistry and got a 100 (it's one of those online things where it tells you your score.)

The rest of the afternoon I painted and sketched and read poetry from books from secondhand stores. Okay, that was only for like, five minutes, but I managed to take a picture.

Soccer game this evening = 6-0 win. We've won all our games so far, but none of them actually count in the standings. It was really dark and...ominous..during the game, and I actually saw lightning a few times, but it never rained where we were. Big, long sigh.

Altogether, I had a nice weekend, with lots of good food (banana chocolate chip pancakes + Chipotle on Saturday...yum. Not together, of course, but, you know...) and weird weather. Tomorrow it's back to the grind! *unexcited cheer* Hope you all had a great weekend, too!

  1. Awww sounds like you had a relaxing yet fun weekend. Pumpkin Spice Latte and Cinnamon Dolce Latte are my fave lattes to order from Starbucks. Unfortunately I haven't had them since I moved to the Philippines. Apparently, they only have Pumpkin Spice Latte and Cinnamon Dolce Latte in the U.S.. Boohooo...Oh well. Good job on finishing your homework early, I guess that leaves you with more time to do what you want to do. Have a happy week sweetie!

  2. I love coffee. Love it. It's weird to me that your mom would be annoyed, but I guess that's because my parents owned a coffee shop when I was young, so it was really only a matter of time. Also, pretending it's cold outside is my favorite thing.

  3. I just got home from ACL and I smell terrible. Plus, I didn't get a chance to study for my quiz or test tomorrow, so this sucks. AND I have English tomorrow, where we have to present our projects. Crap.

  4. Our hockey team lose every match--we don't practice because it clashes with a bunch of other clubs, and instead just thunder around the field violently and score no goals!
Your Sunday sounded good. I really want to try a Pumpkin Latte, please! Not sure if they are sold here though...
