autumnal inspiration

New favorite quote: "I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all, I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing." (Agatha Christie)

I woke up this morning with my window open. I could feel the cool air rushing in and I had to draw my blankets closer around me so I didn't get too chilly. The world was quiet. Except for the faint sounds of cars zooming by and construction workers off in the distance, I was alone. My dad is out of town this weekend, my mom and sister were at her soccer game, and my other sister was still asleep. It was so blissful.

I woke up feeling wonderfully inspired. The first day of autumn was yesterday, and though I'm a summer girl, autumn just invigorates me like no other season. Last night, after copious blog-reading, Pinterest-browsing, and music-listening, I got my first idea for my novel. This made me happy, because I'd been worried I'd have to plunge in without any planning. Not so!

Autumn also heralds all things pumpkin, so Mom made some chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. We have these year-round, but they're especially good this time of year, because it feels so appropriate.

Yesterday, I learned the limits of my camera card for the first time since I got it. 556 pictures. I've never had that many on at the same time. I have a bunch of deleting to do...

I still have the whole rest of the day ahead of me. I have stuff I have to get done at some point, but there are so many possibilities.

It's a beautiful day.

  4. The second photo is beautiful. I decided not to do NaNo this year, because I am kind of struggling right now to find a rhythm to my days, and my mum will have just started working as an oncology nurse, and I've got a ton of half-finished projects... I'm too chicken to handle it! Good luck though.

Just kidding :P ANYWAYS, guess what couple is official now? Just thought I'd put that out there if you weren't planning on Facebook stalking me anytime soon.
