questions for you and me

The first part of this post are my responses to Olivia's blog part + giveaway. There's a lot of prizes and they're all pretty cool, so you should check it out. 

• Favorite season, and why?

I like every season in its own way, but honestly? Summer is probably my favorite. With no school, there's so much more freedom to do whatever--travel, hang out with friends, go swimming. Plus, it's when my birthday is. ;)

• Rain or shine?

Both! I like the comfort of rainy days, how the sound of thunder makes my skin crawl but at the same time evokes a safe, warm feeling. On the other hand, sunshine is lovely {when it's not too hot, that is}. Like today, it's a beautiful mix of sun and wind and greenery.

• Confession time... what's a flaw of yours?

Uh, I have many. Laziness is a big one. Like, sometimes I'd really just rather watch TV than do my homework. So I just do my homework in school the next day. :P I guess putting things off is another one...

• Have you ever made a decision you instantly regretted? What was it?

Oh, I do this all the time but it's never something really big. Usually it's something small, like wishing I'd made a turkey sandwich instead of a salami one. Nothing major I regret.

• Who do you admire/look up to?

Eleanor Roosevelt, Anne Frank and J.K. Rowling. :)

• If you were an animal, what would you be?

Maybe a panda, because they are so cuddly and chill. 

• You're now a gazillionaire... where do you go to spend your money?

Spend some of it on personal things--camera lenses, clothes, music. Spend some buying bigger gifts for my family. Put lots away for the future. And then donate the rest to charity. :)

• Classical music: love it or hate it?

I like it, but it's not the sort of thing on my iPod.

• Phobias?

Yes. My number one fear is seeing teachers outside of school. XD No, really. That and the dark.

• Hop on a plane and go live somewhere for a year... where is it, and why?

England. Because it's beautiful and classic and I just really want to go there {also, Hogwarts...}.

• Are you an extrovert or an introvert?

I'd say definitely an introvert. I've always been a little shy, a little subdued and a little conscious of myself in front of other people. With that said, in front of my family and close friends, I'm not very quiet. :P

What do you want to see on this blog? What kind of posts do you like the best? Would you like more photos of food, more poems, more lists {be specific}, or even a post dedicated solely to unicorns {'cause I can totes do that, you know...}. I'd love to know! I mean, I have ideas for posts, but I want to see if you guys have any, and I'll see if I can integrate them in. :)

P.S. I just found out today that April is Blog Every Day April...I couldn't find just one website for this but it sounds cool...Even though it's April 5th already....Should I do it? :s

all things bright and beautiful

It's one of those times where I'm just happy to be alive. It's not an excited or anticipating happy, but more of a content and blissful one. Everything isn't perfect, but it's okay that way. I'm just happy to be here, living among all of creation.

self-timer fail

Yesterday was watering the garden and putting flowers in hair. It was dewdrops on plants and walking barefoot through the grass. Bliss.

This morning was feeling replenished from church and eating doughnuts. It was more flowers and more green. Bliss. It was reading Katie's sweet and thoughtful post...Happy birthday to her! :)

This weekend was lovely. It was nice to just enjoy myself and be among all things bright and beautiful.

a menagerie of friday favorites

{Okay, okay, I kind of just really wanted to use that word...menagerie. Say it. Don't you feel sophisticated?!...And I don't mean it in the zoo context.}

So, I was thinking about all the little things I've been enjoying this week and I was wondering how to incorporate them all  into a post. And then I thought, Friday Favorite Things, of course! 

So here they are:

April Fools Day. Really, it's a hoot. I didn't get pranked but I helped my friend pass out Oreos filled with toothpaste. Ah, good times. The victims didn't realize until half-way through the cookie..."This tastes minty!"

The colors pink and green together. I think you'll find plenty of them in this post. :)

Our Spanish teacher talking in Spanish the way we do--that is, sounding everything out in an outrageous Texan accent. "Any pray-goon-tas?"

The gorgeous sunsets (and how much later they come now!).

Making new friends and reconnecting with old ones.  

That good feeling you get when your guitar teacher tells you that you've improved {especially when your practicing this week wasn't all that great}.

Admiring all the gorgeous, blooming flowers. Still.

Soccer. Well, mostly my maniacal laughing as we cream the other team in a scrimmage during practice, but....

Cupcakes. Really, do they ever get old? It's my sister's birthday on Monday so she's having her party tonight...right now, actually! There are seven giggling girls in my living room...

....And speaking of her birthday, we went to see a movie tonight. It was something about the Easter bunny...You know, typical kid flick, cheesy but sometimes so funny. Yeah, I'll admit it, I laughed. 

The fact that it's April {!}. When did that happen? Only two more months of school... This is good and scary. I'm not ready to be a sophomore yet and then graduate and go to college and get a job and, and, and...Calm down, Kendall. XD Anyway, this changing of months heralds a new desktop background. {Here} is the one I have.
